Norflox® 200 contains norfloxacin, a fluoroquinolone antibacterial agent that inhibits bacterial DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV, enzymes essential for bacterial DNA replication and cell division. By disrupting these processes, norfloxacin effectively eliminates susceptible bacteria and helps resolve bacterial infections.

The medication is widely used for the treatment of uncomplicated and complicated urinary tract infections (UTIs), bacterial prostatitis, and selected gastrointestinal infections, including infectious diarrhea caused by susceptible organisms. It may also be prescribed for other bacterial infections when supported by clinical evaluation and antimicrobial susceptibility testing.
