Leucorin® contains calcium folinate (folinic acid), a biologically active form of folate that does not require conversion by the enzyme dihydrofolate reductase. Calcium folinate is commonly administered as part of rescue therapy following high-dose methotrexate treatment, in combination with fluorouracil (5-FU) in selected oncology protocols, and for the management of folate deficiency when conventional folic acid supplementation may be insufficient.
