The medication is widely used for the treatment of respiratory tract infections, including sinusitis, pharyngitis, tonsillitis, bronchitis, and community-acquired pneumonia. It is also prescribed for urinary tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections, and certain ear, nose, and throat infections caused by susceptible bacteria.
